Best day to work
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Which day is your favorite to work on? I think definitely not Monday blue, maybe Wednesday or TGIF? For me, it's Saturday.
This day, I have so much freedom. I can choose whenever I want to clock in and nobody is there to judge me. When I am feeling lazy, I can just clock in at 10, or 11. I am free to walk around, visit my garden for some fresh air and play with my adorable cats without the fear of missing any meetings.
At 12PM, mom invited me for lunch and go for shopping. I said nothing more and hit Win + L on the keyboard and left just like that. Knowing that I can continue at anytime when I am back is so surreal.
Asides, I can do something outside of work such as reading news articles or taking on online courses for the latest tech without feeling a slight tinge of guiltiness. If I am bored or irritated, I can just quit and call it a day at any time that I please. I can also choose to work on night shift if I wanted to.
Looking at the team's chat and saw nobody is online gives me a peace of mind. Nobody is going to ping me regarding any issues while I am on my focus mode. I will not be broken out of my chain of thoughts and it really improves my productivity. I also don't need to worry about attending petit meetings that pose little meaning to what I do at the moment.
I am able to achieve so much more on this day alone. If I am behind, this day provides the buffer for me to catch up with the works.
With this much flexibility that I have working on Saturday, the total hour spent on working might but just as few as one to two hours only, but those hours are well-spent on productive tasks that is sufficient to get my important priorities done.
Working on Saturday via-à-vis the other weekdays is such a fascinating and relaxing experience. I feel like I am in control of my time and empowered to make my own decision; I am my own boss. This has truly rekindled the joy of working for me.
